Consuming more than 300 grams of chicken per week increases the risk of death from any cause by up to 27%

(Web Desk): If you like to eat chicken daily, this habit could potentially lead to life-threatening diseases like cancer.
A study published in the journal Nutrition indicates that excessive consumption of chicken increases the risk of various types of digestive system cancers.
Chicken is generally considered a healthy source of animal protein, but the results of this new study challenge that notion.
The research shows that consuming more than 300 grams of chicken per week increases the risk of death from any cause by up to 27%.
Similarly, eating that much chicken each week raises the risk of developing different types of digestive system cancers by 2.3%, with the risk being 2.6% higher in men.
Previously, red and processed meats were considered to increase the risk of cancer, but this is the first time chicken has been linked to digestive system cancers.
For this study, data from nearly 5,000 middle-aged Italians was analyzed.
Details about their consumption of red and white meats (chicken) were collected.
Experts say the findings are surprising, and further research needs to be done on this topic.
They explained that chicken is considered a healthier option compared to red meat because it contains less fat.
They also mentioned that further studies should investigate why chicken increases the risk of cancer.
However, the researchers believe that several factors, such as cooking time and temperature, might play a role in impacting health.
But it is difficult to make a definitive statement on this matter at the moment.
They added that they are not suggesting people stop eating chicken altogether, but it’s important to make it a habit to consume it in smaller amounts to help avoid potential harm.
Researchers suggested that consuming up to 200 grams of chicken per week might be beneficial for health.
