Four shells hit Salam Abad near the Uri-II dam, injuring five people

(Reuters): Two shells hit the office of India’s National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) at the Uri-I Power House in Gingal, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Indian media reported. Another four shells landed in Salam Abad, near the Uri-II power house dam, injuring five people.
Last month, India suspended a decades-old water-sharing agreement after accusing Pakistan of involvement in an attack that killed 26 people in Kashmir.
In response to the growing water dispute, India has started increasing the water storage capacity of two hydroelectric projects in Kashmir. According to sources, NHPC, India’s state-run hydropower company, is carrying out “reservoir flushing” to clear sediment and increase water flow control.
Pakistan has warned it may take the issue to international courts, calling the suspension of the treaty a serious violation.
