Shafqat Ali has been appointed as chairman of Treasury Board


Toronto: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced his new cabinet, including new faces, while also appointing Pakistani-born Shafqat Ali as a minister.
After the recent elections, Shafqat Ali has been elected as a member of parliament for the second time from the Canadian city of Brampton.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has appointed Shafqat Ali to the federal cabinet and appointed him as the chairman of the Treasury Board. Shafqat Ali has become Canada’s first Pakistani-origin minister.
The newly elected Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, has also reduced the number of cabinet members from 39 to 29.
According to the news agency, Mark Carney has retained most of the ministers holding important portfolios in their ministries. However, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly has been appointed Minister of Industry and replaced by Anita Anand as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
