Pakistan is interested in expanding bilateral trade with the US across multiple sectors


Islamabad: Pakistan has offered the United States a bilateral trade agreement with zero tariffs on selected trade lines.
According to sources, this proposal was made in response to the US President’s expression of interest in increasing trade with Pakistan. Pakistan aims to enter into a mutually beneficial bilateral agreement with the US based on zero tariffs on selected tariff lines.
Sources further revealed that Pakistan is interested in expanding bilateral trade with the United States across multiple sectors.
The offer reportedly came after the US President facilitated a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. Following the ceasefire, the President stated his intention to engage in "a lot of trade" with both countries.
It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump had imposed retaliatory tariffs on several countries last month, which triggered turmoil in global stock markets. Subsequently, he announced a 90-day pause on the tariffs, stating that many countries had agreed to enter negotiations with the US.
