EFS scheme has become major obstacle in the way of country’s exports

Lahore: The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has expressed fears of a decline in exports.
Chairman APTMA Kamran Arshad says that the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) has become a headache for the textile industry.
He said that the EFS scheme has become a major obstacle in the way of the country’s exports.
Chairman APTMA stated that the import of cotton yarn has increased 200 times from 108 million kg to 300 million kg.
He added that net exports are declining; this year, net exports have decreased from $14.1 billion to $13.6 billion.
Kamran Arshad further said that cotton yarn and fabric worth 1.500 billion dollars have been imported this year.
