Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s son and former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif's maternal grandson, Junaid Safdar, is once again preparing to tie the knot.
According to sources in PML-N, this time he is engaged to the granddaughter of former PM Nawaz Sharif’s cousin, Javed Shafi. She is the daughter of Usman Javed Shafi, Javed Shafi’s son.
The engagement ceremony was held modestly at Model Town in Lahore, with only close family members in attendance. The wedding celebrations are expected to take place later this year, in either November or December.
Junaid was previously married in 2021 to Ayesha Saif, the daughter of former Senator Saif-ur-Rehman. However, the couple separated in October 2023, a development that Junaid himself confirmed on Instagram.
A Cambridge graduate, Junaid Safdar is not only academically accomplished but also an accomplished polo player, having represented several universities in the UK and won various accolades.
He recently returned to Pakistan from London to support his mother in her political endeavors.
