Significant drop in Chenab River flow from India recorded at Head Marala

(Web Desk): There has been a significant decrease in the flow of the Chenab River entering Pakistan from India. Compared to the previous day, the inflow at Head Marala on the Chenab River has decreased by 54,200 cusecs.

According to a WAPDA spokesperson, the inflow at Head Marala on the Chenab River is 44,800 cusecs today, whereas it was 98,200 cusecs yesterday.

The spokesperson added that at Tarbela, the Indus River's inflow is 177,500 cusecs, and the outflow is 152,000 cusecs. Similarly, at Mangla, the inflow in the Jhelum River is 39,600 cusecs, and the outflow is 10,800 cusecs.

At Chashma Barrage, the inflow is 228,700 cusecs, and the outflow is 183,000 cusecs. At Head Marala, the inflow in the Chenab River is 44,800 cusecs, and the outflow is 17,100 cusecs.

For the Kabul River at Nowshera, both the inflow and outflow are 37,100 cusecs. Meanwhile, the water level at Tarbela Dam today is 1,478.03 feet, with a storage capacity of 2.139 million acre-feet.

According to WAPDA, the water level at Mangla Reservoir today is 1,161.05 feet, with a storage capacity of 2.168 million acre-feet, while the water level at Chashma Reservoir is 647.20 feet, and the storage is 221,000 acre-feet.

The WAPDA spokesperson stated that the total usable water storage in the Tarbela, Mangla, and Chashma reservoirs is 4.528 million acre-feet.
