(Web Desk): An Indian YouTuber has been arrested in Türkiye over offensive behavior toward Turkish women and a local shopkeeper.
The YouTuber, Malik SD Khan — popularly known as Malik Swash Buckle — is currently touring Türkiye and visiting various locations in the country.
In videos shared by the YouTuber, he can be seen making sexually explicit comments about Turkish women. Following public backlash, he has temporarily deactivated his YouTube and Instagram accounts, though some of his videos are still circulating on social media.
In these viral videos, he can be heard making inappropriate remarks about women, and also using vulgar language for a Turkish female guide who was accompanying him.
The video that ultimately led to his arrest was recorded in a Turkish shop, where he questioned the shopkeeper about the absence of the Indian flag in the display.
In the video, the Indian YouTuber begins using disrespectful language toward the shopkeeper over the missing flag, prompting Turkish authorities to take notice and arrest him.
He asks the shopkeeper why the Indian flag isn't displayed and then says he will bring one for him next time. However, he later starts cursing and using offensive language before storming out of the store.
According to Turkish media, after the video surfaced, Turkish police took notice and arrested the YouTuber, initiating legal proceedings against him.
However, Turkish authorities have not officially confirmed the identity of the person in custody, nor have they released further details about the ongoing investigation.
