Germany’s defense chief warns NATO to prepare for possible Russian attack by 2029
‘Russia is producing hundreds of tanks every year, some of which could be used to attack Baltic NATO member states by 2029 or earlier’

(Web Desk): Germany’s Defense Chief, General Carsten Breuer, has warned that countries in the Western military alliance NATO should be prepared for a possible Russian attack within the next four years.
In an interview with the BBC, General Carsten Breuer stated that Russia is producing hundreds of tanks every year, some of which could be used to attack Baltic NATO member states by 2029 or earlier.
He added that despite differing views from Hungary and Slovakia regarding the war in Ukraine, NATO member states remain united.
General Breuer emphasized that NATO is currently facing serious threats—the kind he says he has not seen in his 40 years of service. He said Russia is significantly ramping up the strength of its forces, producing 1,500 combat tanks annually, and not all of them are being used in the war against Ukraine.
Continuing his remarks, the German Defense Chief said that Russia has also produced 4 million rounds of 152 mm artillery ammunition in 2024, which are not all being used in Ukraine. According to him, this stockpile is being prepared for a potential attack on NATO.
