Rs400mn grant approved for Punjab Journalist Housing Society Phase II

Lahore: The Punjab cabinet has approved a grant of Rs400 million for the purchase of land from RUDA for Journalist Housing Society Phase II.

A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in which Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bokhari, and others participated.

The meeting approved a grant of Rs400 million for the purchase of land from RUDA for Punjab Journalist Housing Phase II, to transfer the grant to the Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation. Information Minister Azma Bokhari placed the case before the cabinet, which immediately approved it.

The meeting also approved the overhauling of the Punjab government’s helicopter, the child protection policy, and the Punjab Senior Citizen Welfare Bill. In addition, the registration of electric vehicles and the Punjab Horticulture Authority Act were also approved. The agenda for the development of green areas in Lahore, in view of smog, was also approved.

The cabinet meeting agreed to the acquisition of land for the establishment of a medical city in Lahore. In addition, approval has also been given to form a Punjab Air Private Limited company, and the provision of interest-free electric cabs in Punjab was approved.

The meeting approved funds for the provision of furniture and equipment in hospitals in Punjab. The Punjab Clean Air Program and Maryam Nawaz's Social Security ration cards were also approved.

In addition, funds were approved for the upgradation of bus stops in Lahore. It was also allowed to operate electric buses in various districts of Punjab and establish new convenience markets.
