TikTok rolls out new tools to customize 'For You' feed
These features will give users more control over their scrolling experience within the app

(Web Desk): Social media app TikTok has introduced a major change that is set to transform the user experience.
TikTok is rolling out new features that will allow users to customize their "For You" feed according to their personal preferences.
The "For You" feed is the section where TikTok's algorithm recommends videos based on a user's interests and viewing habits.
The platform is now launching two new features called "Manage Topics" and "Smart Keyword Filters", aimed at giving users greater control over the content they see.
With Manage Topics, users will be able to tailor their For You feed by adjusting how frequently they see certain types of content. In TikTok's settings, the Manage Topics section will let users adjust sliders for up to 10 selected topics, to either see more or less of the related videos.
These sliders won’t completely eliminate a topic, but will help shift the feed’s focus toward what the user prefers more.
TikTok is also expanding the number of keywords users can block, increasing the limit from 100 to 200.
To support this, the platform is introducing a Smart Keyword Filters feature, which will use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance the filtering process.
Adam Presser, Head of Operations and Trust at TikTok, said the new features will allow users to choose the topics they want to see and limit keywords or hashtags they are not interested in.
According to the company, these features will give users more control over their scrolling experience within the app.
Both features will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks.
