Dera Ismail Khan range has witnessed a significant improvement in the law and order situation following effective policing and practical measures taken by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Range Ghulam Mubashir Maiken.

Members of the public said the RPO had demonstrated that a capable, honest and people-friendly officer could effectively discharge his duties in any area through professional competence, sound strategy, consultation and an effort to understand local circumstances.

Public representatives, tribal elders and other relevant stakeholders from various districts of the Dera Ismail Khan region have praised the performance of the current senior police leadership and the measures taken by RPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken to improve policing.

According to details, the RPO’s effective strategy has brought considerable improvement in law and order across the region. Public circles said qualities such as professionalism, good conduct, courteous dealings with citizens and strong administrative skills were essential for effective policing. They said the current police leadership had taken effective measures to maintain peace and improve security through professional expertise and better planning.

Relevant stakeholders said that despite belonging to Punjab, Maiken had, within a short period, developed a better understanding of the region’s conditions, public sentiment and administrative requirements and had discharged his responsibilities accordingly.

Local elders said that although the RPO was not fully conversant with the local language, he had never allowed this to become an obstacle to effective policing. They said he approached every matter thoughtfully and sought to resolve issues while taking local circumstances and regional sensitivities into consideration.

According to public and tribal circles, the current police leadership, under DIG Maiken, had introduced a number of effective and positive policing measures that had received widespread public appreciation. These initiatives had improved communication and mutual trust between the police and the public, while his strategy and administrative approach were also being appreciated within the police department.

Relevant stakeholders said Maiken’s effective strategy, enhanced supervision and modern policing measures had resulted in a marked improvement in law and order, while terrorist incidents had also declined considerably.

Speaking exclusively to GNN News, DIG Ghulam Mubashir Maiken said better reforms were being introduced in policing in Dera Ismail Khan, which had strengthened public confidence in the police. He said the problems faced by local residents were being addressed effectively.

He added that crime in the Dera Ismail Khan Range had declined by up to 65 per cent compared with previous years, while resolving public grievances on a priority basis remained his foremost objective.
