Authorities in Gujranwala on Sunday called the Pakistan Army to help them enforce COVID Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to curtail the blowout of the deadly virus.

According to GNN, the enforcing authorities will first issue forewarnings and if they are not noticed, will register cases against individuals that will be found involved in the violation of SOPs.

District Commissioner (DC) Gujranwala Sohail Khawaja in a statement said the army has been called to assist the district administration in implementing the COVID restrictions.
He told that the army men will be incorporated into the joint teams of police and the district administration.
On the other hand, certain areas of the city are under a smart lockdown and teams have been positioned to monitor the exit and entry points of the area.
