‘This measure would play a significant role in promoting the local solar panel industry in Pakistan’

(Web Desk): The federal government has presented the Budget 2025-26 in the National Assembly.
Federal Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, presented the budget in the National Assembly. The Finance Minister stated that the following measures are being proposed to bring equity to the sales tax system and address its long-standing flaws.
He announced that to ensure competitive equality between imported and locally manufactured solar panels, it is proposed to impose an 18% tax on the import of solar panels.
He further stated that this measure would play a significant role in promoting the local solar panel industry in Pakistan.
