Funds will also be used to establish a new cancer hospital in Islamabad

(Web Desk): The federal government has allocated a significant budget for the completion of 21 health projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Presenting the Budget 2025-26 in the National Assembly, Federal Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, announced that an amount of Rs14.3 billion has been earmarked for the health sector in the upcoming fiscal year to complete work on 21 ongoing projects.
He stated that the purpose of this budget is to improve infrastructure in the health sector, promote preventive measures, and ensure the provision of quality medical facilities.
According to budget documents, over Rs14 billion has been allocated for teaching facilities and hospitals, specifically for teaching hospitals and tertiary care facilities. These funds will ensure the provision of modern medical equipment to health facilities, including hospitals and medical centers.
The proposed funds will also be used to establish a new cancer hospital in the federal capital, Islamabad. Similarly, healthcare facilities will be upgraded to provide better medical services to the public.
Furthermore, the allocated funds for health will cover expenses for Hepatitis C and diabetes screening and treatment across the country.
