Monsoon havoc in Punjab: 4 dead, 27 injured, 1 missing

Lahore: Monsoon rains across Punjab have resulted in various incidents, leaving four people dead, 27 injured, and one person missing due to drowning.

According to Punjab Rescue spokesperson Farooq Ahmed, a five-year-old girl, Dua Fatima, died and two others were injured when a roof collapsed in Basti Riazabad, Okara. In a separate incident, one person was injured by a lightning strike.

In Okara’s Depalpur, two people were injured due to a roof collapse, while in Sheikh Basti, a girl was injured when a kitchen collapsed, and in Adda Gamber, another person sustained injuries due to a roof collapse.

In Sohawa, Jhelum, one person drowned in a rainwater stream, and two others were injured. Search operations by rescue teams are ongoing.

In Kot Barkat Ali, Khanewal, lightning struck, killing one person and injuring another. In Bahawalnagar’s Burewala area, another person died following a roof collapse.

In the outskirts of Faisalabad, roof collapses in Jaranwala 240 Mor and People’s Colony resulted in one injury each. Two people were injured in a similar incident in a village near Sahiwal.

In Malakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, two children were injured by electric shocks. In Kasur’s Kot Peeran and Talwandi, two people were hurt due to roof collapses. In Chiniot’s Lalian, four people were injured in similar incidents.

Meanwhile, in Murree, five people were injured in a collision between a Hiace van and a tanker during heavy rain.
