Special committee has been formed to examine PC-1 of development projects


Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to conduct strict scrutiny before the commencement of development projects. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, a review of the Housing Department has been made mandatory before the approval of projects by all authorities.
According to a notification issued by the Housing Department, a special committee has been formed to examine the PC-1 of development projects. The convener of the committee will be the Chief Engineer of the Public Health Department. The committee has been mandated to complete the scrutiny of all projects within 7 days.
The notification has clarified that the committee will examine the projects as per the guidelines of the Planning Commission and the P&D Department, while the estimated cost, completion period, technical aspects, and suggestions for improvement in PC-1 will also be included.
Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has said that the development projects will be started keeping in mind complete preparation and quality, and project quality will be given top priority in all subordinate institutions.
This initiative has been taken to ensure the transparent and effective implementation of development projects so that waste of resources and substandard work can be eliminated.
