Deceased was identified as 22-year-old Saqib


(Web Desk): A young man drowned and died while swimming in the sea near Hawksbay Sands Pit in Karachi.
According to the report, despite a ban on swimming in the sea, a young man drowned while swimming near Hut No. 98 at Hawksbay Sands Pit. He was rescued by a lifeguard present at the scene and taken in critical condition to a hospital located near Himalaya. The young man succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Saqib, son of Ali. He was a resident of Orangi Town, Sector 5.
ASI Zulqarnain, in-charge of the Sands Pit checkpoint, stated that the deceased had arrived at the location at around 6:30 AM along with three of his friends.
The group had not booked any hut; all four rode their motorcycles to the beach and went into the sea to swim. During this time, one of the young men was swept away by strong waves and drowned. A lifeguard at the scene rescued him and immediately shifted him to Himalaya Hospital.
The young man died during treatment at the hospital. After completing legal formalities, the police handed over the body to the deceased's family.
