Met Dept forecasts more rainfall in the coming days

(Web Desk): Torrential rains and flooding across the country have resulted in a significant loss of human lives. According to reports from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), a total of 43 people have lost their lives and 63 have been injured in various incidents across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the PDMA, 21 people have died in Punjab due to rain-related incidents, including 11 children and 3 women, while 57 others have been injured. Most fatalities occurred due to the collapse of mud houses, weak structures, and rooftops.
In Khanewal and Okara, two citizens died after being struck by lightning, while in Mandi Bahauddin, two children lost their lives due to electric shocks.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19 people have died, including 5 women and 8 children. The province has witnessed severe rainfall and windstorms, resulting in the complete collapse of 6 houses and partial damage to 50 others.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert, forecasting more rainfall in the coming days. District administrations, rescue teams, and relief agencies are actively engaged in emergency response efforts. However, due to the risk of heavy rains and landslides, citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to exercise caution.
