Dubai successfully tests first air taxi
Air taxi will officially begin full operations next year

(Web Desk): A major advancement has taken place in Dubai regarding the future of public transport, as flying taxis are now closer than ever to becoming a reality. The first test flight of an air taxi in Dubai has been successfully completed.
The test flight was conducted by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The air taxi is a fully electric aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), similar to a helicopter, meaning it doesn’t require a runway.
Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, shared a video of the air taxi on social media.
According to the RTA, the air taxi will officially begin full operations next year. Its aim is to provide fast and environmentally friendly transport.
The air taxi was tested in Dubai's desert region.
It has been developed by Joby Aviation, and Dubai's RTA has partnered with this company for the project.
This flying vehicle can travel up to 160 kilometers with a top speed of 320 km/h.
A flight from Dubai Airport to Palm Jumeirah will take just 12 minutes—a route that currently takes around 45 minutes by car.
The first commercial station for air taxi operations will be built near Dubai International Airport.
If this initiative succeeds, Dubai will become the first city in the world to use flying vehicles as part of its public transport system.
Joben Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation, stated that Dubai will serve as a launchpad for a global revolution in this field.
