Mahira raises voice against ban on Pakistani artists in India
She criticized politics in the name of arts saying that ban is all a political game

Lahore: Pakistan’s world-renowned superstar actress Mahira Khan has raised her voice against the ban imposed on Pakistani artists in India.
The actress called the recent ban imposed by India on Pakistani celebrities and various social media accounts a ‘political game’ and stressed the importance of art in promoting cross-border understanding.
Recently, during an interview, when Mahira Khan was asked about the ban imposed on Pakistani artists by India, she said, ‘I have no opinion on this, I still love all my fans. Fans are fans, and people are people. What does this have to do with politics?’
She criticized the politics in the name of the arts and said, ‘Banning this, or that, is all a political game, I do not believe in it.’
Mahira Khan asked, “Whenever there is a political or military conflict, artists always lose out. Why? Why are artists the first to suffer? This is very strange. When a war starts or a political problem arises, the first attack is on artists. Why?
The actress further said, ‘Art is a means of connecting people, but when there is a war or a conflict, the first thing to do is to ban it, or to eliminate the very means that talk about peace.’
It is pertinent to note that on April 22, 26 tourists were killed in a firing incident in the tourist area of Pahalgam in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, after which India first suspended the Indus Water Treaty and then ended all diplomatic relations with Pakistan.
At the same time, India had imposed a complete ban on Pakistani artists, including their films and various social media accounts in its country.
Meanwhile, India also attempted aggression against Pakistan; however, in Pakistan’s vigorous defensive action, the enemy had to bear the grief of losing its modern fighter jets and air defense system.
