Strict security measures for main processions of Muharram 9 in Karachi, Lahore

Karachi/Lahore: Like the rest of the country, the main procession of Muharram 9 in Karachi will be taken out from Nishtar Park at 1:00pm and all security arrangements have been completed.

According to the details, a gathering will be held in Nishtar Park before the main procession of Muharram 9 in Karachi, which will be addressed by Allama Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi.

After the gathering, Zohrain prayers will be offered, which will be organized by the Umayya Students Organization.

After the Zohrain prayers, the procession will pass through Nashimi, Sadar, Radio Pakistan, Jamia Cloth, Denso Hall, and end at Hussainiya Irani Imambargah Kharadar.

Muharram 9 procession in Lahore

The main procession of Muharram 9 departed at 10:00am from Pandawa Street in Lahore, the capital of Punjab. More than 147,000 officers and personnel will be assigned for security.

Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) have been issued special security instructions for Muharram 9, who will perform shift-wise patrolling duties.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dolphin Arsalan Zahid said that Dolphin and PRU will be on round-the-clock patrolling during Ashura. The teams will also perform duties at Imambargahs, other gatherings, and sensitive places.

He stated that Dolphin Squad will be in constant touch with 1122, Fire Brigade, Rescue, and other institutions, and the safety of women and children, especially, will be ensured at various places and Imambargahs.
