PDMA urges public to avoid going near riverbanks, streams, and bridges

(Web Desk): The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has announced that due to the rising water level in the Tarbela Dam, the service spillways will be opened today at 2:30 PM. The water discharge from the dam is expected to remain between 250,000 and 260,000 cusecs.
In its statement, the PDMA urged the public to avoid going near riverbanks, streams, and bridges. Parents are advised not to allow children near water channels. Local residents have been instructed to follow the guidelines issued by the district administration and PDMA.
The PDMA stated that for more information or emergency assistance, the public can contact the PDMA helpline at 1129 at any time. People are requested not to pay attention to rumors and to rely only on authentic sources for information.
The PDMA is fully active and committed to ensuring all possible safety measures and dealing with any emergency situation.
