Thunderstorms, strong winds likely in multiple regions as monsoon intensifies
Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of southern Sindh, eastern Balochistan, and Kashmir


Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms from today in Sindh, South Punjab, Kashmir, northeastern and southern Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.
According to the department, the weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country over the past 24 hours. However, southeastern Sindh and Khuzdar experienced rain with thunderstorms and strong winds, while some areas in Sindh also witnessed heavy rainfall.
The highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Badin, Sindh, at 68 mm, while Tharparkar and Nagarparkar received 12 mm of rain.
On Sunday, heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of southern Sindh, eastern Balochistan, and Kashmir, while hot and humid weather is likely to persist in other regions. In Islamabad and its surroundings, the weather is expected to remain humid and partly cloudy, with chances of rain at some places during the night.
In most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid. However, areas including Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kurram, and Waziristan may see partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and thunderstorms at a few places.
Similarly, in most districts of Punjab, the weather is likely to be partly cloudy and humid. However, in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, thunderstorms and rain are expected at isolated locations. At night, scattered rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and surrounding areas.
In Sindh, areas including Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Tharparkar, Badin, Sujawal, Umerkot, Chhachhro, Paddidan, Khairpur, Karachi, Thatta, Ghotki, Chhor, Sukkur, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Dadu, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Matiari, and Shaheed Benazirabad are likely to receive rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. Heavy rain is expected at a few locations.
In Balochistan, most districts are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, rain with thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela, and nearby areas.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy weather is expected with chances of rain and thunderstorms. Some areas of Kashmir may also experience heavy rain.
