In the first phase, the project will operate on a trial basis to assess its feasibility and performance

(Web Desk): Lahore is set to introduce electric trams for the first time, as the first tram imported from China has arrived in the city. Initially, the tram will operate on Canal Road as part of a pilot project.
Following the metro bus, Orange Line train, and electric buses, Lahore's roads will now also see electric trams. Each tram consists of three compartments and runs entirely on electricity.
After just 10 minutes of charging, the tram can travel a distance of 25 to 27 kilometers and has the capacity to carry up to 250 passengers.
The tram’s assembly is currently underway at the Ali Town depot. In the first phase, the project will operate on a trial basis to assess its feasibility and performance.
