Alberto had traveled to Karachi to claim her inheritance in her late husband’s property, where she was met with a violent reaction from her in-laws

Karachi: A Filipino-origin woman was seriously injured in a shooting during a domestic dispute over property in the Malir 15, Millat Garden area of Karachi.
According to police, the injured woman, Delia Alberto, is the widow of Pakistani citizen Nasir, and had come to her in-laws' home to claim her share of the property after her husband’s death.
SSP Korangi, Tariq Nawaz, stated that the incident occurred when a heated argument between the woman and her brother-in-law, Danish Altaf, escalated into a physical altercation. In a fit of rage, Danish opened fire, hitting Delia Alberto with two bullets, causing her to collapse. She was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
A case has been registered at Saudabad Police Station on the complaint of the injured woman’s daughter.
According to the FIR, the daughter stated that she arrived at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi along with her mother and four other individuals via Japan and Bangkok. They took an online taxi from the airport to her father's house in Millat Garden. As soon as they knocked on the door, gunfire erupted from above.
The daughter confirmed that the shooter was her uncle, Danish Altaf. Witnesses to the incident included her grandfather and other uncles.
SSP Tariq Nawaz stated that initial investigations suggest the shooting was the result of an old family dispute over property. The suspect, Danish, fled the scene after the incident. Police have launched an investigation from multiple angles and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
According to police, the victim is originally from Japan and had married Pakistani citizen Nasir, who passed away some time ago. She had traveled to Karachi to claim her inheritance in her late husband’s property, where she was met with a violent reaction from her in-laws.
