Many citizens have complained that the excessive noise negatively affects hearing and causes general discomfort

(Web Desk): Ahead of Independence Day, Islamabad’s district administration has imposed a ban on the sale and purchase of party horns.
All such horns have been confiscated from stalls across Islamabad, and their sale and purchase have been declared prohibited.
It is worth noting that in recent years, the use of loud party horns—often blown by young boys and revelers during Independence Day celebrations—has become increasingly common. Many citizens have complained that the excessive noise negatively affects hearing and causes general discomfort.
In 2024 as well, the Islamabad district administration decided to ban the sale and purchase of horns and noisemakers throughout the federal capital during Independence Day festivities.
A notification issued by the District Magistrate of Islamabad stated that it had come to their attention that people were selling horns, whistles, and similar items, which disrupt traffic flow.
The administration noted that, in light of these concerns, there is a valid reason to enforce Section 144, and directives have been issued to prevent any threats to public order.
The Judicial Magistrate stated that under the powers granted by Section 144, the storage, sale, purchase, and use of horns and party blowers is prohibited.
