NEPRA approves reduction and sends summary to the Ministry of Finance


Islamabad: The federal government has approved Rs2.65 reduction per unit in the electricity price. According to a notification, the price has been reduced under the monthly fuel adjustment and the quarterly fuel adjustment.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs1.89 per unit in electricity prices under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.
The decision has been sent to the federal government for implementation, stating that the reduction pertains to the April–June 2025 quarterly adjustment.
According to the decision, the tariff reduction will apply to all DISCOs’ consumers, including K-Electric, and will be effective for the billing months of August to October 2025.
NEPRA stated that the reduction will result in a total relief of Rs55.874 billion for electricity consumers.
Meanwhile, NEPRA has also issued a notification for a 78 paisa per unit reduction in electricity tariffs under the monthly fuel adjustment for June 2025.
