Islamabad: The federal government has approved Rs2.65 reduction per unit in the electricity price. According to a notification, the price has been reduced under the monthly fuel adjustment and the quarterly fuel adjustment.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs1.89 per unit in electricity prices under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.

According to the decision, the tariff reduction will apply to all DISCOs’ consumers, including K-Electric, and will be effective for the billing months of August to October 2025.

NEPRA stated that the reduction will result in a total relief of Rs55.874 billion for electricity consumers.
