(Web Desk): West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first against Pakistan in the second match of the three-game ODI series at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on Sunday.
Pakistan made three changes to their playing XI, bringing in Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed in place of Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, and Sufiyan Muqeem. West Indies, on the other hand, made one change, replacing Romario Shepherd with Justin Greaves.
Playing XIs:
Pakistan: Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (C/WK), Salman Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Abrar Ahmed.
West Indies: Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keacy Carty, Shai Hope (C/WK), Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, Jediah Blades.
The two sides have faced off 138 times in ODIs, with West Indies holding a narrow lead with 71 wins to Pakistan’s 64. However, the West Indies have struggled in recent bilateral encounters against Pakistan, with their last series win over the Green Shirts dating back to 1991.
Pakistan, having suffered a 3-0 whitewash in their recent tour of New Zealand, are determined to bounce back with a clean sweep in this series. The West Indies, meanwhile, continue to face challenges, having lost the T20I series to Pakistan and the ODI opener. They were also swept 3-0 by England in a previous home series.
