Laboratory reports indicate the presence of Type 1 poliovirus, which is considered the most dangerous strain of the virus

Karachi: Results of 10 additional environmental samples collected from across Pakistan in July have been released.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), poliovirus has been confirmed in samples from Diamer, South Waziristan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
Laboratory reports indicate the presence of Type 1 poliovirus, which is considered the most dangerous strain of the virus.
Additionally, the NEOC announced that the national anti-polio campaign will be held from September 1 to 7. During this campaign, polio drops will be administered to 28 million children under the age of five across 99 districts in all four provinces and regions of the country.
The NEOC has urged parents to ensure their children receive the polio vaccine.
