According to media reports, a rescue operation was launched as soon as the landslide was reported.
Indian media reports that 30 people were killed and several others were injured due to rain and landslides, and have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment, while pilgrims are also among the dead and injured.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted more rain with thundershowers in occupied Kashmir.
In addition, people living in hilly and low-lying areas have been instructed to take precautionary measures and avoid leaving their homes unnecessarily.
It is pertinent to note that heavy rain continued for the third consecutive day in occupied Kashmir on Tuesday, with 360 mm of rain recorded in Jammu from 8:30am to 11:30pm.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the rains occurred in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, and adjacent hilly areas.
