UK to bring injured Gaza children for treatment, offers scholarships to Palestinians
‘There is no natural disaster in Gaza — this is a man-made famine in the 21st century’

(Web Desk): UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has strongly criticized the Israeli government and expressed concern over the famine in Gaza during his address to Parliament.
According to international news agencies, Lammy stated that “There is no natural disaster in Gaza — this is a man-made famine in the 21st century.”
He added that Israel’s blockade on humanitarian aid to Gaza is severely damaging its reputation on the global stage, particularly among the younger generation, who are viewing the crisis with alarm.
David Lammy warned Israel that its continued military operations in Gaza will not achieve anything meaningful but will only prolong the crisis.
Calling for an immediate ceasefire and a hostage release agreement, the UK Foreign Secretary stated that Britain and its partner nations cannot allow further military operations in Gaza.
Lammy also announced that the UK will soon recognize the State of Palestine, emphasizing that this move is neither a reward for Hamas, nor a threat to Israel’s security.
He urged Israel to pursue peace through secure borders rather than permanent occupation, insisting that true security can only be achieved through just solutions.
The Foreign Secretary also revealed that critically ill and injured children from Gaza will soon be brought to the UK for treatment, accompanied by their parents — the first group is expected to arrive soon.
Additionally, he said the British government has fulfilled its promise to provide higher education scholarships to Palestinian students.
It is worth noting that as the war in Gaza drags on, public opinion against Israel is growing not only in the US and UK but also across other Western nations.
Key allies such as France, the UK, and Belgium have announced that they will recognize the State of Palestine in the UN General Assembly, a move seen as a major diplomatic blow to Israel.
