A judicial conference will be held at 9:30 AM on Sept 8 to mark the beginning of the new judicial year

(Web Desk): Following the end of judicial vacations, the new judicial year of the Supreme Court of Pakistan will begin tomorrow. The cause list and judges’ roster for the upcoming week have also been released.
A judicial conference will be held at 9:30 AM on September 8 to mark the beginning of the new judicial year. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will address the conference. At 10:30 AM, the Chief Justice will inaugurate the Facilitation Center.
From 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, a five-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the super tax case. A total of 1,250 petitions related to the super tax are scheduled for hearing before the bench.
At 1:00 PM, a full court meeting will be held on the administrative side. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will preside over the meeting, where the Supreme Court Bar Association’s proposals regarding the Supreme Court Rules 2025 will be reviewed.
The Supreme Court has also issued the cause list and judges' roster for the coming week. Nine benches have been constituted at the Principal Seat.
Bench 1 will be headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and will include Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Shafi Siddiqui for the September 9 hearing.
Bench 2 will be led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah. On September 10, a four-member bench under his leadership will include Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, and Justice Shakeel Ahmad.
Bench 3 will be led by Justice Munib Akhtar, comprising two members.
Bench 4 will be headed by Justice Ayesha Malik, also a two-member bench.
Bench 5 will consist of three judges under Justice Athar Minallah.
Bench 6 will include Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Malik Shehzad.
Bench 7 will be comprised of Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Musarrat Hilali.
Bench 8 will be a three-member bench headed by Justice Hashim Kakar.
Bench 9 will include Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Aamer Farooq.
This structured formation of benches marks the Supreme Court’s return to full judicial activity for the new term.
