Federal govt to establish first Command and Control Center

Islamabad: The government has decided to establish the first Command and Control Center in Islamabad. Under the pilot project, a government-level fusion center will be established that will provide all services to the citizens. Smart traffic, air quality, waste, and transport management will be made possible through the project.

The Ministry of IT and Telecom has announced the launch of the project under the Smart Islamabad initiative. According to the official document, a government-level fusion center will be established under the pilot project where all services will be provided to citizens.

Officers from all relevant departments of Islamabad will be present in the command and control center.

More smart devices and sensors will be installed under the project. Real-time data systems will be made more effective for citizen facilities. Real-time data integration and command platform will be established in the fusion center.

According to the document, the total cost of the project has been set at Rs708.385 million. The Planning Division has approved Rs250 million for the project.

In the first phase of the project, a command and control center will be established, necessary software and staff will be deployed to run the system. The aim of the project is to develop an AI-based platform and a national replication blueprint.
