No one has control over floods, situation in Punjab is deteriorating: Azma Bokhari

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari says the flood situation in Punjab is worsening, the flood has reached the areas of southern Punjab and the rains are also causing havoc.

Talking to the media in Lahore, Azma Bukhari said that the flood victims are facing problems due to rain and water. The government has done the best job in such a big disaster, there is no example in the country's history. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is going to announce a big relief package.

She stated that due to the flood, 60 people have lost their lives in Punjab so far, 4,335 villages and 4.2 million people are affected, 1.8581 million acres of agricultural land have been affected, due to which pulses and vegetables have become expensive. 2.1 million people and 1.5 million livestock have been shifted to a safe place.

Areas with complaints of dengue mosquitoes are being sprayed. People should cooperate with the administration and not go to places where water has started to decrease without the permission, Azma added.

The Punjab Information Minister said that no one has any control over the flood water. The flood situation in Punjab is worsening. Neither the monsoon is ending nor the people's worries for four months. The flood has reached the areas of southern Punjab, and the rains are also causing havoc.

She further stated that there was an emergency situation in the areas of Khan Bela and Jalalpur, but our people are probably not taking the flood seriously. The flood is not something to watch, people are posting videos on social media and having fun in the water. This flood is not something to be enjoyed, the water flow is very fast.

Azma Bokhari also added that dengue has also started to spread in the flood-affected areas. An appeal is made to the public to take precautionary measures regarding dengue, fumigation is being done in the flood-affected areas.
