Floods are a result of our sins: Nida Chaudhry
Stage actress and dancer Nida Chaudhry says artist community is actively helping flood victims

(Web Desk): Stage actress and dancer Nida Chaudhry has said that the floods in Pakistan are a punishment from God, a result of the nation’s sins, and that everyone should seek forgiveness from the Almighty.
In a brief interview, Nida Chaudhry stated that the outskirts of Lahore have also been affected by the floods, including homes of her relatives.
She mentioned that although the houses of her relatives were impacted, they themselves are safe.
She further added that cities like Sialkot, Gujranwala, and others have also been severely affected by the floods—cities from which people used to come to watch her stage plays.
According to her, the floods have caused such widespread damage that people are no longer attending plays, and instead, they need help.
She emphasized that the artist community is actively helping flood victims, but other wealthy individuals should also step forward. “There is a lot of money in Pakistan,” she said, “and people should use it to help those affected by the floods.”
Nida Chaudhry repeated her belief that the flood is both a test and a punishment from God, saying, “We are being punished for our sins. We must collectively repent.”
The actress added that she herself will repent, and the public should do the same, as the losses caused by the floods are enormous.
It is worth noting that Punjab is the most affected province, where so far over 4.2 million people have been impacted across nearly two dozen districts.
