Punjab acquires airlift drone to evacuate people trapped in floods

Lahore: The Punjab government has acquired an airlift drone for flood victims.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Department, the modern drone is capable of lifting a person weighing up to 200 kilograms and moving him to a safe place.
The Home Secretary has directed sending an airlift drone to Multan to rescue people trapped in the flood.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Ministry, the Civil Defense has completed test flights of the drone in Lahore before sending it to South Punjab.
The Punjab Home Secretary says that it has been decided to purchase 10 more airlift drones for Civil Defense, which is the first emergency airlift drone service of its kind in Pakistan.
According to the Punjab Home Secretary, drones can be used to airlift people from inaccessible and dangerous places.
He says that the process of registering citizens as volunteers in the Civil Defense Resilience Corps is ongoing. More than 4,000 volunteers have registered this week to help flood victims. Registration as a Civil Defense volunteer can be done on the online portal VCD.HOME.GOP.PK.
