More than 4,000 villages have been affected in Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers


Lahore: The death toll due to the recent floods in Punjab has reached 76, while 4.29 million people have been affected so far.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has released a report on the damage caused by floods in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers.
According to the Relief Commissioner of Punjab, more than 4,000 villages have been affected due to severe flood conditions in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers.
A total of 2,190 villages have been affected due to floods in the Chenab River, 651 villages in the Sutlej, and 1,495 villages in the Ravi.
According to Relief Commissioner Nabil Javed, 2.19 million people trapped in the floods have been shifted to safer places. 404 relief camps and 488 medical camps have also been set up in the districts affected by the severe floods.
421 veterinary camps have been set up to provide treatment facilities to livestock. In the affected districts, 1.581 million animals were shifted to safe places in rescue and relief activities.
According to the Relief Commissioner of Punjab, Mangla Dam is 90percent full while Tarbela Dam is 100 percent. Indian Bhakra Dam on the Sutlej River is 90 percent full, Pong Dam is 99 percent full, and Thein Dam is 97 percent.
In view of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the losses of the citizens will be compensated.
