Six arrested suspects killed during alleged CCD Lahore encounters

Lahore: Six suspects were killed in alleged encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Lahore, the capital of Punjab.

According to the details, police officials have claimed that six suspects were killed in a firing by their accomplices during encounters with the CCD in the Chohang and Misri Shah areas of Lahore.

The suspects arrested by the police were being taken for recovery, during which their accomplices opened fire on the police team to free them, resulting in the deaths of the suspects.

Police officials say that the suspects were killed by the firing of their accomplices. The bodies of the deceased suspects have been shifted to the hospital for postmortem.

The police have started searching for the suspects who escaped after firing.

It is pertinent to note that in July, Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Alia Neelam ordered Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar to review the encounters of the CCD.

The Chief Justice had remarked that 50 applications for fake encounters were recieved each day.

A case against the alleged police encounter of CCD was heard in the Lahore High Court.

Chief Justice Alia Neelam heard the petition of petitioner Farhat Bibi, and IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar appeared on the court's order.

The petitioner's lawyer had taken the position that after the arrival of CCD, the same type of police encounters were happening. One of the petitioner's sons was killed, and they have come to protect the other, who is in police custody.
