Victims expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Army for providing timely assistance


Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited flood relief camps in Kasur sector and Jalalpur Peerwala, Multan, and assured the victims of support in resettlement and rehabilitation.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the purpose of the Field Marshal’s visit was to review the current flood situation and ongoing relief activities. He was briefed on the details of rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas.
The visit to the flood-affected areas of Kasur and Multan aimed to further improve coordination between the civil administration and the army so that effective assistance could be provided to the affected population. The Chief Secretary of Punjab and other senior officials of the civil administration were also present on the occasion.
While talking to the civil administration, the Field Marshal stressed the importance of good governance and people-oriented inclusive development and said that all necessary steps, including the development of infrastructure required to protect the people from the damages of recurring floods, should be taken immediately. The state cannot afford the loss of precious lives and property every year.
He emphasized that coordinated efforts of civil and military institutions are of utmost importance to address the challenges faced by the flood-affected people, reiterating the resolve that the Pakistan Army will continue to fully support all public welfare initiatives.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while talking to the flood victims, assured them of full cooperation in their rehabilitation and resettlement process.

The Army Chief also met the military personnel, Rescue 1122 personnel, and police officials engaged in relief operations, and appreciated their high morale, operational readiness, and unwavering commitment to serve the nation in the most difficult circumstances.
He appreciated their day-to-day work in close coordination with the civil administration to provide timely relief and assistance to the people.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Lahore, Kasur, and Multan, as well as Jalalpur Peerwala, to assess the extent of the damage and the ongoing relief activities.
Upon reaching the flood-affected areas, the Field Marshal was received by the commanders of the Lahore and Multan Corps.
