Based on climate data, there is a high likelihood of a severe dengue outbreak this year

(Web Desk): The Meteorological Department has issued a dengue outbreak alert starting from September 20, urging the public to remain cautious.
According to details, floodwater and recent rains have created a favorable environment for the spread of dengue. Major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad are at serious risk.
Based on climate data, there is a high likelihood of a severe dengue outbreak this year. The dengue mosquito is most active after sunrise and before sunset.
A temperature range of 26 to 29°C, humidity at 60%, and rainfall around 27mm contribute to the spread of dengue. Stagnant water in flood-affected areas poses a significant threat as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Municipal authorities have been instructed to intensify fumigation and sanitation efforts, and the public is advised not to allow water to accumulate around their homes, and to use mosquito nets and repellents.
Flood relief camps are to be kept clean and dry, and health centers have been placed on high alert.
