(Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court has ordered the removal of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman from his position.
Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court accepted the petition seeking the removal of PTA Chairman Major General (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman.
The reserved verdict was announced today, with Justice Babar Sattar authoring a detailed 99-page judgment.
In its ruling, the Islamabad High Court stated that the appointment of the PTA Chairman was not carried out in accordance with the law.
The court ordered that Major General (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman be removed from office immediately and directed that a senior member of the PTA be appointed as acting chairman in his place.
