PEMRA clarifies that upcoming dating program not to air on TV
Program is to be aired on social media platforms and not any TV channel licensed by PEMRA

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has clarified that the upcoming Urdu-language reality dating show Lazawaal Ishq, hosted by Pakistani actor Ayesha Omar, will not be airing on television.
The notice shared by PEMRA on social media stated: “It is to inform the public that PEMRA is receiving several complaints regarding the social media campaign of Lazawal Ishq. The program is to be broadcast on social media platforms and not on any TV channel licensed by PEMRA. PEMRA rules apply to TV channels licensed by PEMRA”.
The statement came days after the online criticism that arose when the host Omar revealed the show. The social media users questioned if the show would air on Pakistani television screens, and many others raised concerns over its content.
Inspired by the Turkish hit reality show Aşk Adası, Lazawaal Ishq is also a reality format program introduced for Pakistani audiences. Designed with 100 episodes, four men and four women will live together in a luxurious villa, their interactions and challenges captured on camera. The season will end in the crowning of a “winning couple”.
