Meta launches its first AI smart glasses equipped with display
Meta's new smart glasses are priced at $799 and will be offered for sale in late September

Meta has been working on developing smart glasses based on augmented reality (AR) technology to replace smartphones for a long time.
Now, the company has made significant progress in this regard and has introduced the first smart glasses equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg presented a device called Meta Ray-Ban Display during an event.
He said that these are the first smart glasses equipped with a display.
This display can be controlled with hand gestures, and a bracelet equipped with neuro-technology will be used for this.
Meta's Neural Band bracelet works on electromyography and is part of the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
Mark Zuckerberg said that these glasses look ordinary, but they are the first glasses of their kind that have a high-resolution display and can be used with the Meta Neural Band.

In this device, users can watch videos on the screen or respond to text messages by looking at them.
The screen will not obstruct the view of the outside world and will disappear when not in use.
Meta's new smart glasses are priced at $799 and will be offered for sale in late September.
Along with this, Meta also introduced two other smart glasses.
One of them is the Oakley Meta Vanguard, which is designed for athletes who participate in sports such as snowboarding or mountain biking.

According to the company, this device will be able to work for 9 hours without recharging, can record 3K videos, and also has loudspeakers. It is priced at $499.
The third device is an updated version of Meta's first Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which is priced at $379.
It is pertinent to note that in July 2024, Mark Zuckerberg said during a conference that everyone will have smart glasses equipped with AI technology on their eyes.
He claimed that the use of smart glasses will become a new trend.
Mark Zuckerberg said that we think that smart glasses equipped with different prices and different technologies will be developed in the future.
He said, “I think AI glasses will be available at a low price and millions or billions of people will use them”.
Notably, Meta developed its first smart glasses in 2021 in collaboration with a company called Ray-Ban.
In early 2024, the company also announced that AI technology would be part of smart glasses.
Mark Zuckerberg wants to develop smart glasses that can enable holographic displays.
These glasses will also have camera sensors so that people can record photos, live stream on Instagram, or make video calls on WhatsApp.
