A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, during which a briefing was given on the establishment of flood relief committees at the district and tehsil levels, as well as the development of survey forms, mobile apps, and monitoring dashboards for flood victims.
The meeting decided to initiate an operation for the rehabilitation of flood victims across the province, while instructions were also given to devise the simplest method to assist them.
On this occasion, the Revenue Department, while presenting its report, said that 3,775 villages in 27 districts and 64 tehsils of Punjab and 63,200 concrete and 309,684 mud houses were affected by the flood.
According to the report, the team for the survey of flood victims will include representatives from the Urban Unit, Revenue, Agriculture, and the Army.
Maryam Nawaz ordered the immediate restoration of roads, bridges, and infrastructure in the flood-affected areas and said that the government is committed to providing full assistance to the flood victims. The government should reach out to the flood victims itself.
