Security concerns and diplomatic tensions are reportedly being cited as the reason

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned visitors and work visas for nine countries.
According to a foreign news agency, the UAE has banned citizens of nine African and Asian countries from applying for tourist and work visas.
The countries that have been banned by the UAE include Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Cameroon, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, and Bangladesh.
According to the immigration circular, applications from the countries that have been banned have been suspended until further notice. In which no new tourist or work visas are being processed.
UAE authorities have not officially explained the decision to suspend visas. However, security concerns and diplomatic tensions are reportedly being cited as the reason.
It is pertinent to note that the UAE had imposed such restrictions on some countries in the past. And official statements on such policies have often been limited.
