(Web Desk): In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) claimed the lives of three children and left five others injured.
The incident occurred on September 27 in the Laghari area of Bajaur. The children were playing with an explosive device left behind by the Khawarij militants when it suddenly detonated.
As a result of the explosion, three children were martyred and five were injured. The injured were immediately airlifted to Peshawar by the Pakistan Army via helicopter, where they are receiving treatment at CMH Peshawar under the care of specialist doctors.
Police and relevant authorities cordoned off the site and collected evidence from the scene.
According to security sources, the incident is proof of the dangerous explosive traps laid by the Khawarij in the region. The sources added that in the past, this group has used mosques and homes as shields to carry out terrorist activities.
In another incident in the Tirah Valley, several innocent civilians were martyred and 14 terrorists were killed due to the explosion of stored explosives belonging to the Khawarij militants.
