‘Russia launched 595 drones and 48 missiles overnight’

(Web Desk): Russia launched a massive assault on Ukraine, firing hundreds of drones and missiles that resulted in the deaths of at least four people and injuries to dozens more, according to a report by global news agency Reuters.
On Sunday, Russia targeted the capital Kyiv and several other regions with a large-scale barrage. In response, neighboring Poland temporarily closed its airspace near two southeastern cities and deployed fighter jets until the threat subsided.
According to Ukraine's military, Russia launched 595 drones and 48 missiles overnight. Ukraine’s air defense reportedly intercepted 568 drones and 43 missiles, with Kyiv being the primary target.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the assault lasted over 12 hours, damaging a cardiology clinic, factories, and residential buildings.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense confirmed it had carried out a “large-scale” strike using long-range air and sea-based weapons and drones, targeting military infrastructure, including airfields. However, Moscow denied targeting civilians—despite thousands of civilian casualties and widespread destruction of residential areas since the war began.
Zelensky once again urged the international community to take decisive action to block Russia’s energy revenues, which continue to fund its war efforts. So far, Ukraine has been unable to persuade former US President Donald Trump to support stricter sanctions on Moscow.
In a post on Telegram, Zelensky wrote, “The time for decisive action passed long ago. We are still waiting for a strong response from the U.S., Europe, G7, and G20.”
