Three children were bathing in the water-filled pit when two of them drowned, while the third child survived


Karachi: Two young children drowned in a water-filled pit in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 9.
According to rescue officials, the bodies of the deceased children were transported to Jinnah Hospital by ambulance. One of the children was identified as 12-year-old Mureed Hussain, while the identity of the second child was initially unknown.
Police stated that the pit had been dug as part of the foundation work for a building under construction. Children from a nearby informal settlement had come to bathe in the rainwater that had collected in the pit.
Three children were bathing in the water-filled pit when two of them drowned, while the third child survived. Police confirmed that legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway and that the bodies have been shifted to the hospital.
Later, the second deceased child was identified as 11-year-old Haris.
