Israel deports 170 more volunteers detained for attempting to deliver aid to Gaza

(Web Desk): Israel has deported 170 more of the 500 volunteers who were arrested while attempting to deliver food and medicine to Gaza.
According to international media reports, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the individuals were flown from Ramon International Airport in southern Israel to Greece and Slovakia.
Among those deported today was Greta Thunberg, the globally renowned environmental activist from Sweden.
Greta Thunberg and several other volunteers accused Israel of illegal detention, claiming they were held in inhumane conditions and that their basic freedoms were violated.
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities alleged that during detention, a Spanish volunteer bit a member of the medical staff in prison.
Israeli officials stated that, so far, 341 volunteers have been deported, while 138 remain in custody.
The deported individuals hail from a range of countries including Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, the United Kingdom, Serbia, and the United States.
It is worth noting that the "Sumud Flotilla" was a convoy of 43 boats that set sail on September 27, 2025, from ports in Türkiye and Greece.
Boats in the convoy included Alma, Sirius, Freedom, Al-Karim, and Hope, carrying more than 500 activists from over 20 countries across Europe and North America.
Their mission was to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and draw global attention to the Israeli blockade.
The journey lasted about a week before the Israeli Navy intercepted the flotilla in the Mediterranean Sea on October 1, 2025, detaining all volunteers and transferring them to prisons.
